Frequently Asked Questions

The Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP) in Perth is an Australian Government funded aged care initiative that provides entry-level support for older Australians who need help to live safely and independently at home. The Commonwealth Home Support Program offers a range of CHSP services, including personal care, domestic assistance, home maintenance, social support, and access to allied health services such as occupational therapy, speech pathology, and exercise physiology. These aged care services are designed to support independence and improve quality of life.

You may be eligible for the Commonwealth Home Support Programme if you are aged 65 or older, or 50+ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Eligibility is based on your care needs and is assessed through the Regional Assessment Service. This process ensures each older person receives the right level of CHSP support, assistance, and funding to remain independent at home.

To access CHSP services, you need to register with My Aged Care and complete an assessment through the Regional Assessment Service. Once approved, you will receive a summary of your recommended CHSP services. As a trusted CHSP provider in Western Australia, we help activate your CHSP funding, organise your care services, and ensure you receive the right support at home.

During your assessment, a qualified assessor will review your care needs, daily routines, and ability to manage everyday tasks. Based on this, they will recommend suitable CHSP services such as personal care, domestic assistance, respite care, or allied health services. This ensures your care is tailored to support your independence and wellbeing at home.

The frequency of CHSP services depends on your individual care needs and approved funding. Your personalised home program will outline how often you receive support services such as personal care, domestic assistance, home maintenance, or respite care, ensuring consistent and appropriate care support.

As an experienced CHSP provider, we deliver high-quality aged care services across Western Australia, supporting older Australians with compassionate and reliable care. Our CHSP services focus on maintaining independence, dignity, and wellbeing through personalised support, including personal care, social support, nursing care, and access to allied health.

We work closely with you and your carer (if applicable) to ensure your care needs are met with professionalism and respect, helping you continue living safely and comfortably at home.

If you’d like to learn more about the Commonwealth Home Support Program, CHSP funding, or how to access CHSP services in Perth, our team is here to help.
